“To Whom Much is Given, Much is Expected.”
My Mother used to quote this passage from the New Testament regularly when I was growing up. Like any teenager, I rolled my eyes each time I heard it. Now, however, I can fully appreciate the sentiment behind it. My parents were members of the Greatest Generation and embodied the patriotism, work ethic, and duty to others that the generation is known for. They instilled in me a sense of pride and desire to ‘give back’ to the community – to leave this world a better place for having been a part of it. That is why I am seeking to be your next Selectman.
I don’t claim to have all the answers – no one does. I ask a lot of questions and rely on my management experience to guide me in my decision making. I use logic and reason to arrive at conclusions, and I am not afraid to make the tough call, ask the hard questions, or to say ‘No’. Most importantly, I try not to take myself too seriously, but I do take my job and my responsibilities very seriously.
